As the majority of people already know, beloved Marvel writer Stan Lee passed away at 95 years-old on Nov. 12 of this year. He has created some of the most popular comic book characters, including Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and the Hulk, among others. He has accomplished so many wonderful things in his life, and all comic book fans are devastated to see him go.
In the early 1960s, Stan Lee was assigned to create a whole new superhero team, so he partnered with legendary comic-book artist Jack Kirby to create the Fantastic Four. The Fantastic Four was so popular that Lee and Kirby created an original batch of superheroes, including Doctor Strange, Thor, Iron Man, and Ant-Man. He also created superhero teams such as the Avengers. Part of what made Lee’s creations so unique is that his stories addressed real life issues, such as the Vietnam War and political elections. He co-created the first mainstream black superhero, the African king, Black Panther. Lee has also had cameos in almost every Marvel superhero movie to date, something which will most likely end after 2019’s Avengers 4. Lee has impacted so many people’s lives, young and old, by creating his superheroes, and in our hearts, he is our superhero.
