Ride the Cyclone Review

There were many notable moments in this year's winter musical, Ride the Cyclone. I would like to highlight a few aspects of the show in this review. It had an interesting plot and was very well performed. I loved the encapsulation of the small town kids and how distinct, yet realistic and relatable, each character was.

The choreography in the play was very nice. Monica Taylor ‘25 and Elijah Teel ‘26 both choreographed dance numbers in the play. In Elijah’s case, I thought that letting him choreograph his own song was a nice choice, since he knew the character better than anyone else. Watching the cast perform the pieces was very exciting for the audience. I also appreciated that all of the main characters had their own songs. It really helped us, the audience, understand each character personally. My favorite was Ocean, played by Dalija Interlandi ‘24. Her character provided very nice comic relief and tied the rest of the story together. I enjoyed the eerie touch added to the play by Jane Doe, excellently played by Hannah Seidel-Nini ‘26. Azaria Sifontis ‘24 played Noel Gruber perfectly. She convincingly acted out the dreams of someone who wants something they cannot have. Throughout the show, the acting was phenomenal. Each person matched their role spectacularly, and the casting was excellent.

To wrap it up, the 2024 performance of Ride The Cyclone was great! It was lively and fun to watch, and since it is not a common production, it offered something fresh for many in the audience. Congrats to the cast and crew on their successful show!
