Springtime COVID Procedures

By: Chloe English (Reporter ‘24)

Spring has sprung! Here at FCS, springtime not only means warmer weather and longer days, but new COVID safety procedures.

Pods: Much to the surprise (and sometimes dismay) of FCS students, pods have been eliminated. Students are now expected to spend their free time outside on our beautiful campus. While this can prove to be an issue on rainy or chillier days, students are encouraged to find their inclement weather grade spaces listed in an email sent by Mr. MacFarlane the week of 4/12/21.

Homeroom in Person: When we went back to campus in January, a lot of students and staff members were disappointed to discover that homerooms were still meeting virtually. Following spring break, however, these people got a boost of serotonin when it was announced that homerooms would be meeting together on campus! Being able to gather with our advisories is really helping this feel like a more normal school year.

Vaccinations: Vaccines are being distributed at such a fast rate that most teachers, and even many students, have received them. Because of this, most who were attending school virtually prior to spring break have decided to return! We hope that with hard work and consideration on everyone’s part, the whole FCS community will be able to come back to campus.
