The Friends Schools League’s spring season has come to an end, concluding an excellent season in which Friends’ Central won three championships. The varsity tennis team was the first to win their respective championship with victories over Shipley in the semi-finals and over Germantown Friends in the FSL championship. This win marks their first FSL championship since 2015. Next for the tennis team is the PAISAA tournament. Congratulations to the tennis team, and good luck to them in their next games!
The varsity baseball team was the next team to win their FSL championship. In the two playoff games, they played against Westtown and Shipley, altogether outscoring their opponents 11-2. Their win in the FSL championship against Shipley continued their four-year streak as FSL champions. They have now won an impressive 40 Friends Schools League games in a row. Congratulations to the baseball team for another excellent season!
The final team to win their FSL championship this season was the varsity softball team. A dominant performance in the FSL playoffs, including the championship win over Academy of the New Church, secured them their second championship in three years. The softball team also plays in the PAISAA tournament beginning in late May. Congratulations to the softball team for a stellar performance this season!
Friends’ Central also had success at the Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania. Both of the boys and girls varsity track teams had great performances with boys varsity achieving sixth place and girls varsity setting records, including the school record in the 4X400 relay. Good luck to both of these teams for their remaining competitions!
Friends’ Central’s final sports season of the year was a major success. Having clinched three FSL titles, Friends’ Central is extremely proud of all of these accomplishments!
